Bharti has made its entry into the fast-growing
mobile handset business as group firm Beetel
launched eight handsets in the price range of
Rs. 1750 - 7000.
In order to minimize the impact of rising input
costs, Tata Motors is understood to be mulling
a hike in the price of its passenger cars, Indica
and Indigo, from October 1, 2010.
Ucal Fuel Systems, manufacturer of
carburetors, fuel injection systems and
automotive pumps, is setting up an air suction
valve and oil pumps manufacturing plant for
Hero Honda and Maruti Suzuki at Bawal in
Haryana with an investment of Rs 40 crore.
Sebi has ushered in a major overhaul of the
way mutual funds are sold with the
introduction of biometric cards and stringent
licencing norms for distributors to weed out
agents indulging in frauds.
Maruti Suzuki India’s export of its flagship
M800 model has jumped by a massive 91.49%
to 4,435 units in the April-August period, as
against 2,316 in the same period last year.
To check fraudulent activities by mutual fund
agents and distributors, fund houses will soon
start rejecting third-party payments.
